Welcome to the Handmade Community here at Rejig, a space to connect with like-minded people, to see what they’ve created and share your makes. The handmade community has boomed in recent years, on various platforms such as Instagram and Etsy, with more and more people creating their own fashion and accessories either for fun as hobbyists or to sell their creations. Handmaking serves many purposes, at the fore is the need to rethink fast fashion and take a slower approach to clothing but also as a form of art expression, and Rejig aims to celebrate them all.
At the beginning of 2020 this community began to grow more than ever. The Covid-19 pandemic saw people learning new skills and revisiting ones they may have left due to the busyness of everyday life as lockdowns allowed the time to slow everything down and think about our fashion practices.
Now without these measures in the UK and many other parts of the world, this community has been able to get back out to pop-ups and runway shows and thrive in many different areas.
