Extreme Knitting: 5 ideas you should try this spring

Daffodils are blooming and the days are looking less gloomy meaning spring is coming, and what better way to celebrate the brighter days than dabbling in extreme knitting.

Jumbo, bulky, chunky, it is known to many by different names but the main concept is stepping out of the mundane and creating something that inspires and varies from a traditional knit.

According to the World of Wool: “Extreme knitting is a technique using giant needles and thick yarn to create high quality pieces,” but you do not need to be an expert in the craft.

As long as you can grasp basic knitting techniques, you are more than equipped to try out extreme knitting.

Etsy has lots of options for buying everything you need such as larger needles and chunky wool, you can find them all here.

Below are some extreme knits to try, from bulky to whacky, they use traditional skills to make quirky pieces.
